Well the good news is that all players who had Covid problems are  back, fit and in full training.
We can expect a  starting 11 that will include  Diamond and McGeady and I fully expect all 3 points.

It's not rocket science....we've got a solid defense but need to buy TWO strikers within the next 28 days or spend another season in L1.

Sunderland marked their return to action with a drab goalless League One draw at struggling Northampton Town.
The Black Cats were playing their first match in over two weeks due to an outbreak of coronavirus and were well off their best in a game of few chances.
Nicky Adams flashed a long-range effort wide of the far post early on before Charlie Wyke was also off target when left unmarked from Grant Leadbitter's free-kick.
Max Power stung the palms of Jonathan Mitchell midway through the half but - despite dominating possession - Sunderland created very little in a dour opening 45 minutes.
Ryan Watson dragged an effort wide in the early moments of the second half and Wyke scooped the best chance of the game over the crossbar following a goalmouth scramble at a corner.
Sam Hoskins and Jack Sowerby had late half-chances for the Cobblers but neither were able to find the net and both sides had to be content with a point.
Match report supplied by PA Media.

This salary cap is going to stop us doing this.

At the end of the day you're correct however as the EFL regulations only concern current liabilities (payments due within the current fiscal year) and not long-term debt there is room to be legally creative.

Apparently the simplest of a number now back in vogue is the 'Bonus payment' as these are booked against projected future earnings and not short term debt on the balance sheet.
The PFA & Agents representatives have worked tirelessly over many years to ensure that players never have to sign such clauses by linking arms however we're now in a new world with ever climbing unemployment so I suspect some potential 'Ex-Footballers' might just be tempted to take a risk.
I wonder who'll blink first or shouldn't I hold my breath.
