Saturday takes us to second place Lincoln City, just take a moment to let that sink in, it highlights just how far we have dropped.

But like it or not we go into this game very much has second favourites but we also go into it with some belief.

A few things stand out for me,

A more attacking frame of mind
The danger we have been missing with Geads out.
No goals but a better looking Grigg and a genuine belief that goals are coming.

But all of that counts for nothing unless we start turning draws into wins, fingers crossed my £10.00 this weekend will be real value for money.

I can see a team of..

BURGE
MCLAUGLIN  WRIGHT  FLANAGAN  MCFADZEAN
SCOWAN  LEADBITTER  POWER
DIAMOND  WYKE  MCGEADY

No surprise if we see Sanderson for Wright and Maguire for Diamond

I'm just looking forward to further improvements in performance. That's a first for this season.

I’ve seen enough of the first team
To allow us to introduce some of the kids
Diamond Sanderson kimpo when fit
Embleton who was first team last season
I don’t mean put them in all in one go
But give them a run out there surely can’t be any worse than the under performing lot

That would be a bonus
However I’ve been looking all season for some sort of improvement
Nevertheless Johnson might inspire our team to improve
I would hope so

Agreed that Diamond deserves a run in the team. See what Johnson thinks after a few days with them anyway.

Lee Johnson has praised the impact of Jack Diamond as he scooped our UKASL Man of the Match award in Tuesday night’s victory at Oldham Athletic.
Operating on the right of Johnson’s 4-3-3, 20-year-old Diamond put in an agile and exciting display, assisting Chris Maguire’s first-half equaliser – and the Head Coach had positive words to say following the win.
“I thought Jack was fantastic tonight in the way he played, and that’s something I really loved to see,” Johnson claimed.
“I enjoyed watching his performance. We wanted plenty of movement and that’s what we got from him.
“I truly believe over a sustained period of time, this new philosophy I’m trying to build will benefit us, and blooding the youngsters is part of that.”
Johnson claimed his maiden win in the Papa John’s Trophy tie at Boundary Park, and selected a strong matchday squad for the game.
“We want to win football matches, and we have to improve,” the Head Coach declared.
“I went with [a strong side], along with giving players like Jack and Patta [Anthony Patterson] an opportunity.
“They performed well, and I’m looking forward to the future with them.”

Seen enough to know given time they would be a big improvement on the current lot. We are losing and drawing games. Granted the new head coach will alter the mentality but like vince says the younguns deserve a chance.

Not sur I'd concur GiI.  I watched the Wolves & Palace games after disparaging comments from someone whom had about the standard. I'm afraid the January window can't come fast enough although Curry? & Trailist? look good enough to try in the short term in the front third.

Team News

Lee Johnson has confirmed that there are no fresh injury concerns following his maiden victory as Head Coach at Oldham Athletic on Tuesday night.

Jordan Willis and Morgan Feeney are back in full training, with Lynden Gooch a fortnight or so away.

Luke O’Nien and Denver Hume remain ruled out with shoulder and hamstring injuries respectively.
