Sunderland v Burton Albion
Well Tuesday sees us back at the SoL when we take on Burton, could this be Parkinson's last game?
Whatever the future holds one thing is certain we must win and get those 3 points.
None of us can honestly say we go into this game confident of a win, maybe a 1-1 draw our speciality.
To say this is a big season for our club would be a massive understatement, one more season in div1 could see a fans exodus on titanic scales. The lockdown, IMO is saving the club's embarrassment of very low crowds.
I will be watching the game because it's free but can't say it will be with any enthusiasm.

Well this no longer Parkinson last game and it will be interesting to see the team.
I'm sure any cameras will be scanning the empty stadium looking out for owners and managers.

It will be interesting indeed. Hopefully this is the turning point for us. Whoever is the owner, everyone knows that we must be in the Championship next season and Parkinson was not the man to get us there.
I will be on Chatbox tomorrow if anyone wants to come and join me and Barrow and Gil and whoever elese turns up, for (hopefully) a more exciting and much less of a nail biting and frustrating match!

Well the enthusiasm seems to be back, it'll not be a quick fix, but this is not another 'false dawn'

Re: Sunderland v Burton Albion
Managerless Sunderland left it late as Max Power's header secured a 1-1 draw with Burton at the Stadium of Light.
The Black Cats, under the temporary guidance of first team coach Andrew Taylor following the departure of Phil Parkinson on Sunday, drew by that scoreline for the third successive game.
Sunderland struggled to come up with a way to find the net against a Burton team with the worst defensive record in League One.
But Power headed in with five minutes to go to level things up after Charles Vernam had put Burton ahead on the hour.
Power had an effort deflect over and defender Conor McLaughlin rolled a routine effort into the arms of goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara early in the game.
Burton, who seemed happy enough for the home side to have the lion's share of possession, only went close once in the opening period when goalkeeper Remi Matthews held a header from visiting defender Michael Bostwick.
There were a few more goalmouth incidents after the restart.
The visitors took the lead when Joe Powell's shot from distance was poorly dealt with by Matthews and Vernam reacted first to power the finish over the line from close range.
Will Grigg headed against the post and fellow substitute Danny Graham was denied by O'Hara as the hosts pressed for an equaliser.
And they found it when Power arrived in the area to nod Denver Hume's delivery low and inside the bottom right corner.

i swear I could make money if I just had a standing bet on all sunderland games to end 1-1 - we must get more 1-1 draws than any other team, every week it feels like

Re: Sunderland v Burton Albion
That was appalling. Up against the worst defence in the league and our so called goal scorers still couldn't score.
The quicker the club is sold and January comes round to bring at least one decent striker in the better.

All I can add is that to pay to watch that standard of technical play you're better off donating your money to a community charity committed to helping those in need. Seriously, these players are technically deficient with their lead footed touches....appalling
