EXCLUSIVE: William Storey - who says he's trying to buy @SunderlandAFC - has spoken to BBC Radio Newcastle about his background, his plans, and WHY he wants to own the Black Cats.
Simon Pryde, Nick Barnes and Marco Gabbiadini ask the questions.

Yes - saw a write up in the Chronicle about it. His bid actually seems genuine rather than just a publicity stunt and if everything he says is true then it could just work out. There's still a lot to be sceptical about I guess and a lot of people are questioning his business dealings and character.  I expect a bit of a rollercoaster if he does take charge but he answered the questions positively. Some of the interesting points -

* there are ways round the salary cap
Maybe if he was in charge he'd just ignore it as he doesn't believe it's legally enforceable. Having come out with something like this, will that put him in a bad position with the EFL regarding approval?

* Critical of FFP and Sartori.
Thinks FFP are just looking to swoop if the club collapses and Sartori hasn't put enough money in

* Has major European backers that can take Sunderland back to the prem
Hope this isn't all bluster and he genuinely has the finance sorted.

Rumour has it there may be 2 bids up against each other. Would this be Sartori vs Storey?

Interesting times.

Surely EFL make the rules for the league, such as ending the season. If he did ignore the rule wouldn't that mean they could penalise the club, with a fine or points deduction, as when a club goes into admin.

There probably could be ways around it though. Promotion bonuses? A bigger signing on fee?

Who only knows but if I was in the market for a company at present that looks cash strapped, I'd wait and watch before pouncing to get an even better deal.
