Flanagan signs
Northern Ireland international Tom Flanagan has put pen to paper on a new deal at Sunderland AFC.
The defender, who moved to the Stadium of Light in June 2018, has signed a two-year contract on Wearside, extending his time at the club until 2022.
Since joining the Lads, Flanagan has made over 60 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals.
After committing his future to the club, the 28-year-old said: “It’s been an uncertain time in every sense, so it’s good to have it signed and sealed, and I’ll be raring to go once we return to training. I get on really well with the manager and I like his management style, so I’m really looking forward to the next two years. There is definitely unfinished business for me at the club, so I can’t wait to be back.”
Manager Phil Parkinson added: “I’m really pleased that we’ve agreed a new deal with Tom. He’s a good character and an excellent professional, and we are all looking forward to working with him again during the upcoming season.”

Re: Flanagan signs
Obliviously great to resign an existing player with a willingness to get stuck in.

Once moved to left of centre in a back 3 I thought he acquitted himself well more often than not.

Re: Flanagan signs
Do you think we should play with a six or traditional back four? (Not sure who's resigned etc).gil t azell wrote:Black Cat Kiwi wrote:Obliviously great to resign an existing player with a willingness to get stuck in.

Re: Flanagan signs
Probably Danny Graham, for a last pay day where he can stroll about doing nothing like Will Grigg, but nobody else
