Nike and SAFC

This season our new kit suppliers are Nike, this is actually the 3rd time in our history that they have supplied our kit.

The first time Nike supplied our kit in 1983 was quite a milestone in that it marked the US firm's design debut in English football.

One thing that was notable was that the club badge was on the right side of the shirt with the Nike logo on the left (however on the kits with no sponsor some badges appeared on the left)

The lifting of the ban of sponsorship on shirts on television came around this time and this appears how there are pictures with and without sponsor names.

The sponsor name for all 3 kits from 1983-85 was Cowies and from 1985-86 the home shirt was Vaux and the away shirts Tuborg.
