Where the economy is far more important than lives?

I reckon at the end of these 3 weeks.. Some will get stir crazy, but companies will snap imo, and force their employees back. Furlough payments won't be enough, they've got a company to keep afloat and money to make.

The government will also get to the point where they'll accept an amount of deaths as some sort of limit as long as they get the economy going. So, imo, they'll accept these companies operating again, even if it means in some places you can't guarantee social distancing due to the area they work in.

Employees will be given a mask, and told to crack on, if you catch the virus just Isolate for 7 or 14 days... You'll only get sick pay, but the employer only loses one employee for 2 weeks rather than closing their company down and put their staff on furlough payments.

You can't put any price on it, can you? Its too precious, the fact that the government are hurting the economy so they can save lives proves that they take the same stance. Its serious

BUT...

You just know we'll get to the point where they'll accept a certain amount of deaths if it means the country gets moving again, like it'll be dehumanising the issue.

Unless we get a treatment that stops some people from being so ill they end up being critical, we'll have to put up with lockdowns every so often, and I wouldn't be surprised if some companies will refuse to close either.

They'll find ways around the social distancing in manufacturing imo. Profits come first for these companies, regardless of what they say about the health and well-being of their staff. They say that stuff just as a front to make you think they care.

Steve my thought is this is going to be around for some time and if i am going to die from it then so be it.  I will get it no doubt now or in the weeks to come after lock down ends. I WILL not worry, yes i will be careful washing hands and doing cleaning as i can but if its meant to be then its meant to be.
I'm 62 so not a bad age.
There will come a time when we will HAVE to sacrifice deaths to start the economy, but as Japan is showing the second wave is coming because they came out of lock down to soon.
What is the right strategy?
One thing is for sure this is all new to us all and i include our leaders in that so i wont be on there backs when this is all over.
Lessons will be learnt though worldwide.

Well hopefully you won't get it, and if you do you could get over it... Older people than you have done it.
Let's just hope they get some treatment quicker than their timeline for a vaccine, because if we do, it could stop people being in a critical way and potentially dying.

But companies who keep running through a lockdown will just make things worse, it may as well be a factory producing the virus, and their staff taking it home.

As long as bits of metal and paper are king, lives are expendable..
