I have seen the disallowed Power goal, once he's hit it, it then strikes a Coventry defender then in off O9.

Technically is 09 deemed onside once it came off the Coventry defender on the way through.

One for the purests, clutching at straws, I know.

Would it still have went in if it hadnt hit o9?

To be fair I thought the ref was MotM today. Kept things flowing, wasnt silly and hamdled a couple of early meaty tackles quite well.

i always thought if it came off the defender last which it did then O9 has scored. Should have stood.

Sounds like he was in an off-side position when the shot was struck, therefore he was off-side  like

There is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from a goal kick, a corner kick, or a throw-in. It is also not an offence if the ball was last deliberately played by an opponent (except for a deliberate save).
So i guess he was offside as it was a deflection off the defender rather than he deliberately played it.

Agree, but as one of the pundits has said, if he has deliberately attempted to block the ball (which as a defender he had) then he deliberately attempted to and did play the ball .... badly!!

If roles had been reversed I am sure we would have been happy to accept it, que sera sera
