What a fantastic success our first international fans day (weekend) has been. 163 supporters from over 14 country's is a fantastic achievement, all coming together for their love of sunderland. Some asking if we're having another one and when. A huge thank you to Chris Waters Jamie Lauder and Wallace James for all the help, support and patience in working with us, but, the biggest thanks has to go to John Ellington who had the original thought, thank you so much John for contacting us and believing in the blc. A few photos from the weekend

‎Jim Gilling‎ to Sunderland AFC Branch Liaison Council

As Chair of the BLC I first of all must say WOW what a weekend it has been for Sunderland AFC, the BLC, our Global supporters and everyone connected with the club. A great International Fans Weekend run by the BLC supported by Sunderland AFC and topped off with a win against promotion rivals Ipswich.
Special thanks must go out to John Ellington who planted the idea in the minds of the BLC, Joanne Youngson and Cath Reid who took the idea and made it a reality, the BLC social committee for their assistance, Chris Waters, Jamie Lauder and James Wallace for their support in arranging events at the SOL and the Beacon of Light.
The weekend wouldn’t have been special without certain people coming together and providing their services, where necessary, so thank you to Michael Ganley for allowing us to descend on the Fans Museum on Friday night, Stirks Steakhouse and Wine bar for supplying the food free of charge on Friday night, the Deputy Mayor of the City of Sunderland Councillor Harry Trueman and the Deputy Mayoress of the City of Sunderland Councillor Dorothy Trueman for their attendance on Friday night, Roker Rapport for the podcast that I have just listened to, it sounds great lads, Bobby Kerr, Mickey Horswill and Mr Sunderland himself George Forster for their attendance on Friday night. To all branch members that attended Friday night thank you for making the night special and meeting up with our Global football family.
On Saturday we moved into the business lounge at the SOL and where met by some of the players from Sunderland ladies as well as Darren Williams they all gave an insight into the life as a player with our club.
After the match a special bonus when the Manager and players plus the owner Stewart Donald took time to meet everyone to end the day on a perfect note. Thank you all for making Saturday a great day.
Sunday we have to thank Nick Barnes and Kevin Ball for the talk-in as well as Sophie Ashcroft for showing everyone around the Beacon of Light and discussing the excellent work of the Foundation.
Finally a huge thank you to all our International fans that took the time to come over, spending goodness knows what to get here and being a part of our Global Football Family. This day will live forever in our memories of being a Sunderland Supporter.
Now for next year - yes it will be an annual BLC event, watch out for the date when next seasons fixtures are released. I am sure Cath and Joanne are already plotting what the agenda will be for the 2021 International Fans Day.
Thank you for being a part of a unique event I hope you all have a safe journey home. For those remaining in the UK for tonight’s and Saturday’s game enjoy the rest of your stay - hopefully another 6 points to send you home smiling and with plenty of memories.

I'm wondering if the lady in the lime green jacket, might be putting in a case for sexual harassment?

Just a thought....its her facial expression.  Embarassed
