Four away draws in a row. Still could've been worse. Pity though I was hoping we got a home draw against a certain Premier League club and then we could've put Manchester City out of the competition. Guess we will have to save that for the quarter final now.

I think and hope eventually it will. I think what tonight's performance has shown is that there is a bloody good 90 minute team there. Furthermore it looks like we have even more strength in the team now with some good performances from the new lads. Just need JR to get his best 11 on the pitch with an attacking formation and go for it every game. Let other teams worry about us instead of giving them a 1 goal start.

What last night showed is that a lot of football comes down to psychology. When we are the 'underdog' we can pull it all together but when we are 'expected' to win then the pressure is too much for players still trying to bed into a new club, culture and gel as a team.

Love him or hate him that is where Cattermole came in and we have not yet replaced that leadership on the pitch. BUt last night showed they can dig in and defend a lead against a team two leagues above them (wah!). So what was different? And will Jack Ross learn from it?

Lynch getting rave reviews, could a Lynch/Willis partnership solve the defensive problems?

Last night like the previous round we played a club that didn't really want to progress in this competition. That was the main reason.

Don't forget Burge, he could be close to a first team outing.

I agree, he has never let us down indeed he has excelled when played and Maybe Mclaughlan needs a kick up the arse

Great post  like
I watched the draw and was hoping we’d get you at your place.  I’ve not had an away trip for a while now and I know that would have been a great one.

All the very best against Oxford and if we get past Southampton it might still happen or better still another Wembley meet as the last one was most definitely the most friendly final myself and most City fans have ever had.

Good luck again and hopefully see you soon. pint

Could be - but still playing against players in a team two leagues above us - and I have never believed any professional player steps out onto the picth not wanting to win. It is not in their DNA.

You’d like to think so H but I’m assuming you’ve not seen Paul Pogba play.

Sorry.  I couldn’t resist that.

Sid, I know you couldn't give a toss about Pogba's indifferent form, but he is a real enigma, the guy obviously oozes talent but he seems to get bored very quickly.

I honestly think that he is the main cause of Man. Ure's poor form and I am surprised that he wasn't moved on in the Summer!
