STEWART DONALD is ready to sell Sunderland in a £50million deal to an American-based financier.
The Black Cats owner had talks with the takeover team on Friday and they watched the 2-1 win over Portsmouth at home yesterday.

The multi-national group are in the computer industry.
They announced their interest in recent weeks and moved fast.

Donald has only been in charge at the club for just over a year.
And he was disappointed when a bid by US-based businessman Mark Campbell’s team fell through over the club’s value.

However, Donald was also unsure about Campbell and his backers.
But insiders say he is very happy with the new people.

Sunderland are expected to confirm the advanced talks this week and the move would go through subject to due diligence.

I honestly believe he has the interests of the club at heart but I also stated I thougt he was a chancer in it to make money.

If he sells and he goes he has my best wishes. If he stays I will be happier.

PS, I am blotto.

Mr Donald has tweeted a response to this shambles of a 'news' paper and the 'insider' information , to a fan asking the question . Shame people buy shit red tops like this paper and actually listen to the bile and crap they print .
The man invested in our club , he repeatedly says openly that if the right investor with SAFC at heart comes along and he feels they can take our club to the next level with or without him involved he will step aside for the greater good .
Now how can any sensible person take that as a 'sell out ' a 'chancer' or worse . Sometimes it is hard to follow the neanderthal sensibilities of some 'fans' .
Never truer the saying ,,,,, you can't please all the people blah blah blah .

WE WON v POMPEY ,,,,, be HAPPY get  a beer and chill FFS .

I am happy but one of the aims of the forum is to update on any news, good, bad.

The thing is we've just got to wait to see what happens. Most paper reports on Donald and the club have been very wide of the mark. From the way he's approached the management of the club since taking over, you've got to believe that he is trying to do the best thing for the club. I believe that will involve the right investment with him still involved for a couple/few years yet. I look forward to confirmation of what is happening from Donald and won't take too much notice of the papers in the meantime.
