Tony Towers, remember him. Part of the deal that took Tueart in the opposite direction.
Got into the England team but as i recall we got the poor end of the deal.
No disrespect to the lad, but he came in as replacement for one of our favourites.

I 'loved' Tony Towers . . . . especially his penalties [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

That is a blast from the past.  I’d forgotten he was part of the deal for Tueart and definitely know where you are coming from,  we all loved Dennis.

Having said that Towers was very well thought of at City and broke into a very good team as a local youngster.  We still have a lot of players from that era still working at the club including Dennis but I’ve not heard of Towers for ages.

You’ve just made me smile Gordon!

It certainly was and is still mentioned nowadays.  I spent a brilliant weekend down there and had a very memorable episode in a pub before the match which was packed with your nearest and dearest.  It didn’t involve violence but not suitable for an open forum I’m afraid.
