Very nice tribute to Raich Carter on the following forum's 'header' this week featuring their match against us this weekend:

I wonder what he would make of our club today

I worked in Sunderland for 7 years in the 60's and grew to love the place. I saw Clough's 'come-back' game where he hit the post (if only that had gone in it would have been so different). I saw the greatest centre-half who ever lived in Charlie Hurley and the sheer magic of Jim Baxter. I had never witnessed such passion about a football team before - and I had been to Liverpool, Manchester and London. I could only guess that Raich Carter would have been saddened by this seasons performances but I can tell you with absolute certainty that those supporters in the 60's would have ran on to the pitch last week, tore the colours off the players and played themselves rather than watch such a passionless effort.

Yep we have been brought low..

Will we be a Phoenix??

No matter what happens I will be a Sunderland supporter, although I may not go to all the games anymore.
