Has me worried this one, qpr away form can't go on forever and will probably have a new man in charge.Possibly a bad time to play them.

SAFC v QPR Match Day Thread Empty Re: SAFC v QPR Match Day Thread

Post  Guest on 2015-02-04, 11:13 am

I think its too early to call this one. We need to see how we get on with Swansea, and how QPR do against Southampton. Whether or not they have a manager/coach in place is also an issue - but the impact of this could go either way. If there is no one in charge -v- Southampton and they get tonked it may be beneficial. They might not even have any one by next Tuesday - who knows?

All I hope is we build on the previous two results -v- Swansea. A battling and creative display, then regardless of the result I expect a good atmosphere next time at SoL. What do you reckon?

QPR, with their daft owner and collection of WCT has-beens are on the road to nowhere, if they appoint Tim Sherwood it will be a case of out of the frying pan......

well, we won down at QPR  a couple of years ago, so no reason we can't now especially as Defoe seems to have rejuvenated us..

Lets see how we get on at the Swansea jacks first...we need points however they come.

Last night the Fulham goal was soft and our first goal was a gift.

Still it could be the turning point we all want...17 points required..we need wins

SAFC v QPR Match Day Thread Empty Re: SAFC v QPR Match Day Thread

Post  cyprussyd on 2015-02-04, 1:16 pm

We have two games that will hopefully lift our confidence even further, a win or draw at Swansea and a win at Bradford should see us face QPR with no thought of QPR and their manager.

Mind you bad results will take us back to square one, I just dont see that happening.

Defoe has provided a feared predator.
Wickham, Fletcher and Graham are looking like they want to score
Alveraz looked sharp
Reveiilere is a revelation
Johnson is looking sharp
Giacchorrini looked sharp
Defence is looking stronger
Cattermole will be back soon

All give me confidence

Got my dates wrong, QPR is before Bradford but same conclusion

Catts is Deffo the best person we have for defensive midfield but I think it would be harsh to drop Brids to the bench after the last couple of encouraging displays. Obviously if we got hammered at Swansea then fair enough Catts goes straight back in but imo bench him and let him ease his way back.

So we take a useful point at Swansea, and QPR lose at home, conceding in injury time. Rangers could still be without a manager come Tuesday. Bring it on...

Have to say we always seem to be a team of unwanted records as such. Would just be our luck
that the tabloids after the game would be QPR get their first away win of the season........

First we need to see who is fit, can Averaz manage 3 in a row, he was tired today.

Will Wickham be fit?

We must, IMO  treat this as a win an go for it.

QPR striker Charlie Austin, 25, and centre-back Richard Dunne, 35, could miss the rest of the season with injuries suffered during Saturday's 1-0 defeat at home to Southampton.

Possibly no Charlie for QPR could be good news for us considering he's their top scorer and
scored the winner against us earlier in the season. But I think we would still beat a full strength
QPR atm.

Again this is the sort of game we should be saying three points, not an easy game none are in the PL but, all we can say is true to form we will probably gift them a goal and they get their first away win under their new manager.
Bollocks to all that I'm going for a good 2-1 to us to move us further away from the clarts and put a team below us ( nothing against QPR here) further in the clarts. These next few home games all against teams below us or just above us should be reaping max points.

Cometh the hour, cometh the team, for a line has to be drawn.

Being a Sunderland fan means you always have that,"Yes but", at the back of your minds but we can only hope that our new found attacking mentality stays true.

With Austin out I am hoping for a clean sheet and with Defoe in we are always liable to score, a win for me.

With Twatkinson as ref we are unlikely to get many free kicks or penalties..I did notice (even though we were last again... I recorded it) that Lineker and co thought Alvarvez should have had a penalty...
