I know, I know and like you I feel the pain but, what can we do, sack the manager, not my call and like you I am concerned and have no idea what we do.

All I can do is be there on Tuesday and try again to spur them on, step by step, game by game.

Di Canio has a problem on Tuesday, OK, he may have more than one but, what team does he play?

Mix it up and give the finge players a try, its a game we really must win.

Play the team he wants to start next weekend to build confidence, but what if they lose?

I understand the calls for PDC to go, I understood the calls for Bruce to go but for as long as the manager is the manager all I can do is soldier on. My ticket is bought, despite the result I enjoy the games so all I can o is brush myself down and on Tuesday start all over again.

Well said Syd. Like you I'm feeling quite gutted not so much by the result but by the apparent gutless performance the type of which we all thought we'd seen the last of when MON went. We have to stick with PDC and support his teams for there is no way that Short will get rid of him at present. Of course PDC could walk but I doubt it and don't even want it for he has to be given a chance to sort it out. With regard to Tuesday I'd start with the team that I see as my first XI and then stick with it through thick and thin otherwise how can they gel as a team.

On another tack, interesting result at Newcastle today by Steve Bruce's Hull. I wonder how many of those who accused him of not doing his job for Sunderland against the mags because he was a mag supporter are now willing to withdraw their words. Somehow I doubt it.

Lots of strange results, Liverpool lose at home for one and I am really pleased fro Brucie. I met him a number of times and he was always very approachable and warm.

Having a weight problem myself I always get annoyed with the fat calls, oh to be a perfect specimen like those who call others.

It is crucial at the moment that whatever he believes to be his strongest side, pending injuries, is given the opportunity to play together on Tuesday against a side who should be inferior to us. They have to be able to gel and gain confidence in playing together.

Once again today it appears (not seen the game but read comments and reports) that, Gardner is not the driving force needed in midfield. I would bite the bullet and play Cattermole and Ki in the middle and stick to them!. Stick with Johnno and Jacko on the wings. It looks like Altidore and Borini up front with Fletch out for while.

Not sure what the problem is at the back, seems that there is no cohesion between the four .... acknowledging that we haven't had the same four in two games running, he needs to sort this out. O'Shea says more work needed to establish a unit, three slip ups and three goals!!

Some reports suggest Westwood could have done more with each of the goals today .... maybe Mannone should be given a go!

So,

Mannone

Celustka - Diakite - O'Shea - Colback

Johnson - Cattermole - Ki - Giacherini

Altidore - Borini

Any success is a confidence booster, and, given our league results, we need all of that we can get right now.

Go for it.  I hope we win.

The events of the last 24 hours throw a complete new slant on this game, what will Bally do?

Bring back the old guard
Mix in the new dawn
Bring in some kids

Could be a very interesting evening

I think Bally will concentrate on making sure we are tight at the back.

We will have 5 in midfield, and a lone striker.

Yes we are leaking goals, whilst it is great to have two attacking wingers, they are not very good defensively.

I think he will do that for the Liverpool game, but come on, against peterbro' we should be looking for a confidence boosting victory ... not looking for a clean sheet!

I would have changed to Mannone, but I think Bally will stick with Westy

Good thinking mackem, I particularly like the Sunday team although it's likely that the diving cheat will be back for Liverpool and he could well perform one of his well rehearsed dives as Cattermole approaches him. Smile  Smile  Smile
