Humph!!! I'll have you know I won the Not606 league year before last, and think I was 3rd last season (cant find the league history, if it exists) tongue

It really is good fun though, looking forward to the fantasy league season almost as much as the real league.bounce bounce

In a head to head league the fixture computer draws your team against another member's team, each week. Your score for that week is compared  with your opponents, and you get 3 points for a 'win' and 1 for a draw. Positions in the league are based on these points, rather than the total points, as in a classic league. So you could well do a lot better than you think. Very Happy

Spot on, it maintains interest for a lot longer and I believe the top four have a play-off in the last two weeks .......... I managed to win my league play off last year!!!

The truth is behind this loveable rather handsome exterior lies a bad person who will suffer eternal damnation for their sins.

But my mammy loved me, its what they do

You may or may not have seen that there is a 'forum' page on our league in the fantasy football league. very useful for chatting about rules and any difficulties you may be having with the game. you will see that the 'Real Sunderland' manager has been kind enough to give a few tips to you Newbies, all sounds good advice apart from the bit about 'READING THE RULES' ...... not a man thing!!

It will also be a good place for those 'Mind games' before a game ............ remember you will be playing someone different every week!!Cool

We can feel the tension and excitement building .......... if you are not in it yet, be quick .... only 7 places left!!

Just the head to head, but easy to look at scores to see who is top points scorer within our league.

Neil, can we can have more than 20 in the league, should there be a sudden rush of people returning from their holidays, wanting to take part?

In theory there is no limit to how many we have. A minimum of 20 enables everyone to play each other twice.

So, YES, I am happy for more to join right up to friday evening, then I will close entries ........... as long as there is no serious objection.

I have also adjusted the rules, now that we have a full compliment, so that the top eight teams will go into the play-offs over the last three weeks.

ie: after 35 weeks the top eight go into 4 quarter-finals, two semi-finals and a final for the overall champion ...... which of course may not be the league winner!! I think this will maintain interest right up to the end.

Are you going to post the League Table on here as well? That way those who aren't playing can see how we are all doing and wish they were playing along too Very Happy

We now have 20 teams, thanks a lot for entering, it will be fun.

As above happy to take late entries up to Friday lunchtime at 12.00. this will give me time to look at fixtures for the first weekend and write an into/preview for the season before it all starts.

good luck to everyone, I think there will be much movement in the real transfer market before the window closes and that will force change at a fantasy level too, so keep an eye on what is happening.

Syd as asked me to consider having an 'assistant' to act as back up when I am not around. Happy to have someone on board, but I suggest we see how the first few weeks go and the way I do it, before anyone commits themselves to help.

Cheers

Neil
