well many say no to Sky for many reasons but, I dont enjoy having to go to pubs to watch my football and I love my live football.

I also find that for me Sky does it best so the £43 a month is worth every penny to me, I really do get my monies worth and enjoy it.

Down to personal choice, how much you would use the service.

We have had Sky Sports for about 16  years now and love being able to watch British and Spanish football pretty much whenever we want from the comfort of our own home. We do still go to pub occasionally for the odd (away) game, and SoL for home games of course.

Other programmes that are good on Sky Sports are Soccer Saturday, Sunday Supplement and Goals on Sunday, as well as European and PGA golf (sorry Syd!) and of course cricket and rugby (not that I watch that rubbish!).

We have the HD package and multiroom Sky+ box so we pay a bit more, but we definitely feel we get our money's worth.

I actually have Virgin (Cable) which includes some Sky programmes including Sky Soccer Saturday.

Virgin have ESPN too but I understand that will not be the case for the new season.

Sad

(I prefer cable for the broadband connection)

I have seen players shipped out for posting pictures of them sharing a local bike

Football is probably my main reason for renting murdoch-vision (which I have to admit overcomes my aversion to the man and his products) but i also like Rugby, Cricket and Golf and for a few quid extra there are movies too. If I go to a pub to watch football it is really a short drive away and drink driving is not a good idea. My internet is with BT so as i understand it I will now get what was the ESPN games as well.

Ah yes I see your problem. So it is really about deciding whether to get Virgin's Sky Sports package for £25.75 a month plus another £7 if you want SS1 and SS2 in HD?

IMO it is worth having HD, so perhaps you could just think of it as less than £8 a week for your footie and other sports fix!

We paid for Sky for Mr H's dad some years ago and he alsways said it was the best present he ever got, as he loved his sport. Saved us having to think of something to get every year as well!
