Post  cyprussyd on 2013-03-31, 3:46 pm

We tried the Kean fresh, big name
Bruce the nice man
O'Neill the big name

All ended the same so I'm happy with the Di Canio option.

Whether he's the right man to get us out of the present situation, I have no idea. But as a long-term appointment, I wouldn't mind. I like very much his emphasis on skills. We've almost forgotten what those are. And we'll go nowhere without them. So, whilst he's not my first choice, I'd get behind him.

I have supported Roy Keane and I have supported Steve Bruce and Mon till the end but I WILL NOT support Di Canio Neutral
the man is a Racist, a Nutcase and not even a great manager (somone i know is a season ticket holder at swindon and h didnt like him it at all... he told me di canio just threw money at the league) also remember that Swindon were/are in money problems after his reign as manager
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21047858
Please remember just one year ago this man was in serious trouble after making a 'inappropriate' comment to on-loan French striker Jonathan Tehoue about hs Skin colour Shocked
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18245752
I will still Support sunderland but not this man.

Good post Connor, like you I will continue to support Sunderland but will not support an unstable man who is only interested in promoting himself with his outlandish actions and statements.

Well he will get my support, his facist views, I image mny players and managers have views I am against but he is here to manage my club so I will judge him like the other managers we have had, on results.

Post  cyprussyd on 2013-03-31, 5:22 pm

I can see whats being said but it honestly means nothing to me.

Every appointment is a gamble and any of the managers available could work out either way.

Whoever we get will have my support and I will judge on performance and results, not their past or political views.

There comes a point where past and views become relevant, for me Di Canio excites rather than concerns.

I'm with Syd here. Do you all remember those wonderful years when Peter Reid was knocking up consecutive top seven places? Remind me how many black men were in Reid's sides please. But Reid was canny (canny-o?) about it. He never made his views public and got away with his obvious racism. I hope that Ellis will make it clear that any public expression of racism would severely hurt our African ambitions and would result in a very rapid exit. In short (excuse the pun) shut it Paulo. Beyond that, I'll support you.

First job, get us out of relegation. Second job, please get down to that Academy and show them - for the first time in their lives - what a ball skill is, will you? The last Englishman that understood that was Gazza twenty years ago. And he was a throw-back even then.

Know very little about the man other than: pushed a ref over in his playing career, is know as a bit of an 'ultra' in Italy and for fascist salutes, so he will go down well with the BNP, Ukip denizens up here.

Not followed Swindon so I have no idea if he was good bad or indifferent there?

Well it is not the 'wally in the brolly', can anyone tell me about his managerial stats and his playing stats?

There should be no place in football for racists or facists. Some on here clearly disagree.Hang your heads in shame. The proof is there so why not sayitthewayitis.Defend him all you like.Maybe his political views are shared by other posters on here.Free speech and all that nonsense eh.If the racist/facist is appointed,it will split the clubs support.
