Crossan was involved in an illegal payments case with Derry City. I think it was something trivial like £2 traveling expenses or something, but he was an amateur at the time and shouldn’t have been paid at all. He was banned from playing in UK for a couple of years. Alan Brown wanted to sign him from Standard Liege and we had to help him with his appeal to the FA. The ban was lifted. He wasn’t a bad player but new manager George Hardwick didn’t rate him for some reason and he left for Man City. I think he later played for Middlesbrough.
