I was going through my emails last evening when I came across a purchase made on eBay, which I know full well I had not made.

I went on to eBay straight away only to find my account had been blocked, advising me to change my password and that eBay were on the case in hand.

I then went back into my emails to find another eBay message telling me they were getting suspicious
activity on my account so they changed all my details, unfortunately after the item was purchased.

The same person(s) (well I assume) tried to make another purchase but fortunately with ebay having
changed my details the purchase was declined.

I have since opened a fraud case with PayPal and my Bank back in the UK. Obviously have had my debit card blocked and will be having a new card delivered to me within the next 10 working days.

I was told normally the fee is £150 to have a card sent by courier overseas!! But in this instance apparently I do not have to pay....thankfully.

The purchase was made in Ohio, and delivery by courier to Miami, with a tracking number in use.

So I hope they catch the bas###ds.

How they got into my account I never know? Ebay could not give me an answer.

What I intend to do from now on Dave is whatever purchase I make through eBay  in the future with the said new card is to take the card details off their system with each allocated purchase I make.

With this item that was purchased by someone unknown to me using my card details together with it having a tracking number surely someone must be able to get the person at the other end because I assume it has to be signed for?

Very few fraudsters are caught. Very few are prosecuted and even less convicted. Yes it's a tw*ts trick but as CD said there are some clever b*stards who make a bloody good living out of it.
