But let's be honest, if we're struggling against teams in the bottom half, it doesn't say much for our promotion credentials, does it?

If we're serious about promotion, we need to be scoring more than one goal against a team sitting 2nd bottom, and we need to be looking comfortable in doing so.

If we can keep in touch until January, and then we'll see how ambitious and serious these owners are about getting out of this division.
TBH I would love us to be playing exciting attacking football but I guess I am punch drunk.

Relegation from the prem was expected, what happened next was not, Then we had last season, so much hope, happiness, potential and life was good again, then it all petered out.

I liked Ross and dont mind Parkinson but maybe right now I am just happy to go game by game and enjoy any success we have, today we won so thats me happy.

I have to believe we will go up this year, just cant face anything else.
Ross would have turned that into 1-1
Yeh but it wasn’t
I thought Hume had a good game
As for the rest well we won and they fought to get it
We will be fine if we battle every week and work hard

Just out of curiosity I did a quick comparison of this season to last - doesn't look too great, we have lost almost as many games this season already as we did the whole of last season (5).

2019 after 15 games - 25 points (GD +6)  7 wins 4 draws 4 losses

2018 after 15 games - 32 points (GD +16)   9 wins 5 draws 1 loss

Still looking back at 2018/19 it is clear what killed us was the mid-season spell where we drew 7 of 9 games

Away form is clearly an issue - all 4 losses have been away from home and last season 4 of 5 were away as well - this is not a team that travels well.

So basically, we'd have to go the rest of the season unbeaten to get near to the points total we got last year?

And some fans think we'll still have a chance of promotion?

Not likely

Take a look at the table. Plenty of twists to come during the winter months.

I honestly dont see any point in the season if I gave up this early, I very much doubt the manager or players have.

So yes I am one of those rather strange fans who believe we will be promoted, indeed I cant see any reason why not. I dont do statistics because in my experience they can be made to give you whatever answer you are looking for.

We are 5 points behind second and eight behind top with around two thirds of the season to go, all to play for IMO.

I would have agreed if Ross had not left, bit the Parky blinders are different.

No, its more a case of getting more wins and fewer draws

In 2018 we drew 19 games - that is effectively 38 points dropped - if we had won just a couple of those draws (even if we had also lost a couple of them) that would have made the difference
