Bolton Wanders v Sunderland AFC
Saturday sees us on the road again for a 3 o'clock KO at Bolton, the banana skin of all banana skins, we cant slip up.
IMO but not necessarily Jacks we need to go back to the starting 11 for Accrington and if we cant keep a clean sheet at bottom club Bolton e will never keep a clean sheet.
Anyone else feeling a wee bit nervy?

We have all followed Sunderland long enough now to know that nothing is ever easy for us....a striker hasn't scored for 5 years?...guaranteed he'll score against us...a team hasn't won for 6 months?..you'll get one against us....I'm more nervous about this game than playing one of the top teams....mind does it matter if we get beat? because according to quite a few of our "fans" we are shite anyway

I think SAFC can afford to lose this one. Long way to go yet.
I don't think JR can afford to lose this one. The minority of JR out brigade is growing and will get bigger if we fail against Bolton.
Having said that I think a very comfortable win is on the cards.

Bolton drew last time out but we must have to much for them, surely.

Re: Bolton Wanders v Sunderland AFC
Well done Kiwi. Better to talk about rugby rather than the rag, tag and bobbletail team that nearly beat safc. Oh dear, bolton's goal appeared to be everyday bread and butter defending to clear the ball but everyone was twisting and turning out of the way. Again the only way we could score was via the penalty box. We have strikers who previously were extra prolific but when they play for safc lose the plot.
We should be much better than this so once again we have to ask, is it the quality of the players or the setup or the tactics because not a lot seems to be gelling at the moment. Yes we are 5th but we won't be for much longer unless we consistently and convincingly win games. No matter how we don't want instability, or how good we think Jack Ross is, you have to imagine the powers that be are lining up a plan B.
I am trying not to be negative, just realistic that all does not appear well.
One of the topics on here questioned whether SD has been told to zip it. Maybe his positivity is also being dented.
On a positive note, oxford drew at bolton and then slammed 6 without reply at lincoln.

Yeah, let's be positive. Not many teams go to Bolton and come away with a point.

I, like everyone else, am wondering where the hell Bolton grew another arm and a leg and managed to score against us whilst we should have got at least three against them. The mind boggles.

Re: Bolton Wanders v Sunderland AFC
We need to remember that Bolton were a team of kids at the start of the season. They have now built a new team under a good manager so maybe no longer a soft touch.
That said we did not play good but we did not lose either, a long way to go.
