A nothing game? you bet its not!!!!! a win guarantee's second leg is at home. Southend are fighting for there lives and will be very difficult to beat, but beat we must do. Not bothered who we play in the playoffs.

Spot on, a big game and I think the hone leg second could be vital. Last night was a disappointment to say the least but promotion is still very much in our own hands.

Ross was fuming last night and will certainly be getting into the squad and letting them know what is needed.

The owners, manager, players and fans have put so much into this season, we cant let it go without one hell of a fight.

A selection dilemma for Ross who will want to win for a number of reasons but will also have the the play offs in mind.

McGeady I would guess will be a none starter, he will be needed for the play offs so that foot wont be risked but after that I dont see many changes.

Maybe rest Catts and give Leadbitter a game and Grigg is playing with an injury so if Wyke is fit, he should be then he starts.

Am I wrong to be looking forward to the game, probably.

Well, we are in the play offs - very much a lottery.
We do have a reasonable away record so is it such a great advantage to play the second leg at home?
 Probably not.
We can't have tired legs in the play offs. More physical games.
So why not rest the 'older' gentlemen for the Southend game.

I do not have happy memories of play-off days.

We all remember the Charlton game of course.

I took my daughter to Wembley to watch the play off with Swindon.
A very, very disappointing result too.

I would have Wyke & Grigg on the bench in the event we may need them. Get Kimpi & Sterling on. If they perform well it could get them on the bench if were lucky enough to get back to Wembley.

Catts is experienced enough not to be silly so I would leave him in.

There is more pressure on them than us imo so although I was fairly sensible on J's predictions I am going for 0-5 to the cuddlies.

I watched the Charlton play off on TV and was inconsolable for about 2 weeks afterwards. I too was at the Swindon play off game which was awful - but soon cheered up when they got demoted for fraud or tax evasion or whatever it was Razz

Well its match day and it could be a strange day. Reading social media there seems a split in the fan base, BREXIT split, Tories split, Labour split and now Mackems split.

Many who had booked on fans branch coaches have cancelled but at the same time many buses, including Coxhoe, are still full.

Its a very important game for Southend so unless we are up for it we could lose and that for me would be a big concern with two important games ahead that could lead to a third game and promotion.

So Sky for me tonight and maybe some of the game will see me watching from behind the sofa.

I think JR is a relatively young inexperienced manager who had never managed in England before. If there was a school report it would be has done well, can do better. JR will know that. In my opinion he will.

To get back to what you said vinkel yes I think a few players will be leaving in the summer and hopefully the owners will back JR to get the players we need to ensure we either stay in the championship or alternatively we have a better squad for next season.

Coxhoe branch have two buses going, one today and an overnight bus that went yesterday.

I can confirm that so far the fans on the overnight bus are enjoying their trip even though many cant remember much and some are not very well.

Love the stats on this one, showing an easy 2-0 win. Matchbook are paying a whopping 2.75 with a £10 freebet - https://www.betseven.net/football-betting-tips/english-league-one/southend-vs-sunderland/

Watching the spurs bournemouth game. Spurs down to 9 men. Can't help wondering whether we are up to playing in the championship. Would another season of consolidation be beneficial. Personally I don't think we are good enough to avoid the yo yo effect.

current run of form is continuing I see (1-0) - not the way to head into the playoffs

if they lose today that will be 1 win in the last 8 games I think.
