The latest manager thought to be on the Baggies radar is Sunderland boss Jack Ross.

The Black Cats have only lost 5 of their 52 matches under the 42-year-old, and are currently 3rd in League One with 80 pts.

I think this will depend on what league we are in and if we have a change of owners.

Bloody worrying though.

The Sun reports that West Brom will turn to Black Cats manager Ross if they fail to secure their first choice - Preston manager Alex Neil.
Given that Neil signed a new three-year deal yesterday with Preston, ironically after his side were beat 4-1 by West Brom - the chances of the Baggies securing him look slim.

Preston manager Alex Neil (Image: Sunderland AFC)
Speaking after the game, he commented on the speculation: " I thought that it [the speculation] got to the players. I could see it in their eyes before the match.

"It has affected them and it has affected the day for the fans, which I apologise for.

"I feel as if I have ruined the day for the supporters. People write what they want and then it grows arms and legs."
The report in The Sun also goes onto to claim that Ross is being considered by the Scottish FA to replace Scotland boss Alex McLeish who is under pressure after several poor results.

Preston looking after their compensation..

I imagine Ross would not be able to turn down managing his national team.
I also think he would last longer than Big Sam.. who is very quiet lately..

Why would Ross go to WBA? the lure of the premiership if they go up? money? certainly not potential.
Would Ross want to finish what he started at Sunderland?

[size=48]Shan to take charge until end of season

Just now

Albion can today confirm Jimmy Shan will remain in charge of the first team until the end of the season.
Shan will continue his role of caretaker Head Coach until the close of the 2018/19 campaign in recognition of his efforts which have brought an average of two points per game in his six matches in charge.
Shan will add to his coaching team later this week as Albion gear up for a promotion push which now sees the team well placed to challenge through the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs.
“Jimmy has fully earned this opportunity to take us through to the end of the campaign,” said Technical Director Luke Dowling.

Sunderland boss Jack Ross is an early outsider to take over from Alex McLeish as Scotland manager.

McLeish, 60, left his role as Scottish head coach by mutual consent on Thursday after just 12 matches in charge of the national side.

Scotland appointed McLeish in 2018 when the former Rangers and Aston Villa boss replaced Gordon Strachan, following Scotland's failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Strachan is now the early favourite to fill the vacancy, with bookmaker BetVictor offering odds of 4/1 for the 62-year-old to be reappointed.

Ex-Sunderland boss David Moyes is the second favourite at 5/1, while Ross is an outside option at 20/1.

In a BBC interview back in September, Ross admitted it was his "ultimate ambition" to become the Scotland manager at some stage in his career.
A former defender, Ross wasn't able to gain an international cap for his country but did make one appearance for Scotland B in 2009.
Yet following reports linking him with the West Brom manager's job, Ross dismissed speculation regarding a possible move away from the Stadium of Light.

“I genuinely haven’t read anything this week – I’m trying to be clear-headed about what we’re trying to do,” said Ross.
“I’ve said time and time again how much I enjoy this job, and also how much I’ve still got to do within it.
“For however long I’m here, that’s what I’ll be focused on, and my commitment to the job I’ve got to do here hasn’t changed. That’s the only thing I’m focused on and there’s still an awful lot of things I want to achieve at Sunderland football club."
