Very good - the club is getting things right in so many ways that it almost feels like last few years were all a bad dream Laughing

Hate to be negative when all appears to be going so well but what if Stu n Charlie sell up? I hope the next owners are as good as these two. Hopefully we will just get another backer with more cash but leave these two in place to run SAFC.

Stewart has been very, very honest about the future. He has recieved offers but is not interested and says he can take us through the championship. He also has Jaun and Juan has very rich contacts.

Stewart wants to take us to the premiership but will sell if a better option comes in but it must be right.

Of course he could be a con man but, I have seen nothing to suggest he is.

Getting back to the OP I am so pleased for Chris Waters, Sunderland through and through, a very nice and honest young man.

Post  Gordon Armstrong on 2019-03-20, 6:22 am

The club does seem to be getting most things right, but I still have the same concern that I had, and mentioned, a couple of weeks ago.
I received a text a few days ago from O2 suggesting that I look at 'My 02' to keep an eye on my account . . . . I do look at my account periodically, and they only send me a text at the beginning of each month to tell me how much my bill is, but I signed in to see 'what was what' after their prompt.
I must have rang the Ticketmaster number over 40 times for cup final tickets, mostly it was engaged, a few times it said that I'll be put in a queue, then it was engaged, and four times it put me in a queue where I waited for a little over 11 minutes, listening to dreadful music, before I was 'cut off' without warning or explanation. At the start of each call it told me that 0844 numbers cost 7p per minute, and I thought 'blinking heck' but I needed to do this for tickets.

After a lot of frustration I never ever got through to anyone, and eventually booked them online, in two separate (first and second) phases, so the 'phone calls were a complete waste of time !

Anyway, back to O2, I was shocked to discover that these 'phone calls have cost more than £30 because of the mickey taking bastards at Ticketmaster, and my point is that I'm assuming that S.A.F.C. don't receive a penny from these exploitative calls, but they will receive a cut of the £2.50 for a normal first class stamp that Ticketmaster charge (instead of the 67p that it actually costs for a 1st class stamp) and the £2.40 for each ticket that they 'stitch us up' with !

So, why would the club join forces with crooks like these, who are notorious for exploiting the public, when they've managed perfectly well in the past for Wembley occasions without overcharging/taking the mickey out of us ?
Some have whinged in the past about having to wait in queues with thousands of fans at the ticket office, but, to me, that 'is a part of the holiday' which enhances the excitement/experience of the occasion Smile

My concern is that we may not be as financially stable/viable as they've led us to believe Sad

Gordon, You should send this to the club, they need to know so that if possible, it doesn't happen again.

Ps. Get Syd to Cc to the Boss on twitter etc.

Absolutely no chance and TBH I have absolutely no problem but then again I had a Ticketmaster account long before cup final day.

I activated my SAFC/Ticketmaster account with out problem. Logged on for a ticket and was placed in a que, no surprise there and after around 20 minutes was on and ticket bought.

If the club had not used ticketmaster, a specialist company and used our ticket office most would miss the final by a few weeks.

I didn't find the ticketmaster experience particularly great but I don't get the connection you've made in your final sentence.

I went on line to start with and then when I wanted to see if I could get tickets somewhere else other than what was said to be available online but I then had a similar experience to you. I gave up and got the ones online. However, even this was far preferable for me than queueing up at the ticket office, being a season ticket holder who lives in North Yorks.

Ticket master is not perfect but if the club decided their ticket office can't cope with it then it had to be done. I'm sure loads of people will have been feeding back to the club and they will work with Ticketmaster to ensure things go a bit smoother next time. My only concern is how many of the elderly gave up because they won't all have had people to help them out like the story we've all read about (apologies if I sound patronising to the elderly and I hope not to offend anyone on this forum Very Happy ). Funny, the last time I had issues with Ticketmaster had a Sunderland connection as well - League of Gentlemen at the Empire.

The last sentence, Kipper, was a reference to it possibly being necessary for the club to be doing this for extra revenue from their 'cut' Wink
I understand the problem with queueing when you don't live in the Sunderland area, but my gripe is regarding Ticketmaster exploiting us, and the club seemingly condoning it Sad
