I did some of these for Hull City Fans Forum on Facebook - I posted one some time ago featuring Raich Carter. The Members started sticking them up in their places of work and local pub and the membership went off the planet with over 15,000 members at the moment. Gordon told me that membership/contributions have been dropping off of late so I would encourage you all to copy these and stick them on a wall somewhere. They contain our internet address and we may attract a few more. I have done these by request and they have had well over 200 likes on the boards and pop up all over the place. In Charlie's case he would have walked into the 1966 world cup team had he not been picked up by Eire when he was about 18. Jack Charlton was never in his league.

I saw Charlie play at Roker Park. I couldn't believe just how great he was. He had it all. I believe he was voted "Player of the Century" by Sunderland fans, and rightly so.

He was voted king Charlie player of the century

I met him a couple of times too as he used to get his meat from a bloke who was a permanent lodger at the 'digs' I stayed in Atholl Road, Hendon. He had a butchers shop just up the road, Bob Croudace was his name and I always dropped in just to say good morning as I passed on my way to work and a couple of times Charlie was in there.
