Sunderland v Gillingham
Tue 19 Feb
KO 19.45

No time to rest as we move on to our next game  and the last of our 3 back to back home games.

I think we can agree that so far the return of 2 points from 6 is a wee bit disappointing, 5 out of 9 will feel a little better.

At the time of writing the Gills sit in 21st place so an easy win is a given, I'm sure I have heard that before.we know that any win needs to be a hard fought one.

I fully expect to see Maguire start and Watmore back with Wyke starting on the bench, I also see a move away from the tried and failed 4-4-2, maybe a 4-2-3-1 with Maguire behind Grigg.

Whatever the team one thing is for sure, we need to get behind them whatever happens. Things will be tense and an early goal from Grigg will do a lot to calm everyone.

I would prefer 4-1-3-2. We need to just attack now and score goals.

We cannot defend so dont even try.

5 from 9 would be disappointing imo but better than 2 or 3 from 9.

Were putting pressure on ourselves but last night McGuire came on and we played faster football ALONG the ground and played really well. More of this but for a lot longer please.

As I've said before....there is nothing wrong with the system we were playing at the start of the season (i.e 1 upfront) the only difference was that lately we were only scoring 1 goal but at the start of the season we scored more

I think the 2nd half of last night's game backs that up....the thing I would like us to do is up the tempo of our game

I was in the Clock Stand, 9 months pregnant and 2 days overdue. Was not for the faint hearted that match which lived long in the memory. Thin that was only surpassed by the Charlton Play off final as my footballing nightmare!

Blimey - crazy how we all see things differently! How can you not have Morgan in the squad and Mcgoech has been seriously unfortunate to lose his place.

Morgan is in the squad and I would have no problem with him and Mcgeoch starting, the beauty of a good squad, also feel for Sterling.

Kipper is my hero,I have never before meta man brave enough to be critical of a woman, especially that woman.

And never mind about her husband Nick being unhappy about the affair between Jerry and Morgan, I am fecking furious.

I agree with Gil T that we'll win by about 6-0 or 6-1 tomorrow night (even though he hasn't actually said it yet) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Thank you! Will take a 4-2 win any day. Will be good for confidence all round, especially as Grigg got his first goal so that monkey off his back (I know a penalty but they all count!)

Interesting that Cattermole's return coincides with this good win? Sounded like O'Nien had a great game too.

I only saw the 2nd penalty and it was a defo.  New owners, new manager, new philosophy, and some new players,  pretty damn good going.  It’s a pity about the recent draws but hopefully the 3 points will kick you off again.   Wink

Very happy with that despite the faults.

Defense still a concern and both Gills goals at other end of the pitch but I'm told we had a chance to clear on both so hoof the ball practice needed.

Both open play goals good and Catts was MOTM

Up to 3rd, 4 points behind with a game in hand and Barnsley away.
