SUNDERLAND V BLACKPOOL
Tuesday 12th
KO 19.45

If we are looking at games one at a time this is the first of 3 massive games.

A must win game to get us climbing the table and Ross has some very big calls starting with tactics, does he go with on DM and  go on the attack and surely the time has come to start with O'Nien.

He also has the option of a back 3, no idea what the team will be.

He isnt in favour of 2 upfront but he certainly needs to be more attack minded at least at home and how anybody can leave O9 out is beyond belief.

I am still in the automatic promotion camp but we need to score and keep on scoring in the same game whilst learning how to close games out.

In theory I think Ross has it right in that rather than two up front he goes for three up front.

At the beginning of the season it worked with goals from all three, Maja, Gooch and Maguire.

In the present system we have McGeady doing his bit but the other two not. My guess is that Grigg will score and the other two of the three will join in.

As Gill says the problem is joining befence with attack in a threatening way and O'Nien seems to be that link so give him a chance starting on Tuesday.

So my team for what its worth would be

MCALUGHLIN
MATHEWS  FLANAGAN    DUNNE OVIEDO
GOOCH   ONIEN  LEADBITTER
MORGAN   GRIGG  MCGREADY

And Sterling and Maguire on the bench to bring on if or when needed

Not looking promising for me to make this game, that will be two missed. Annette was rushed into hospital again at 4.30 this morning, looking like a morphine overdose, accidental but worrying.

She was a lot better when I left her at 5 o'clock but her blood pressure is low so she is there overnight and maybe longer. I'm already bracing myself for Friday.

Thanks everyone but it is not life threatening we just need to get her medication mix right. She has now been moved onto the acute medical ward and could even be home today depending on her stats, her blood pressure was very low last night and they are working at getting it up.

I have booked the live stream for tonight so I will see the game just not be there in person, visiting is from 11 to 7 so a long day ahead but fingers crossed I will have her home tonight.

On dusting. hoovering and general tidy up so at least the house will be nice for her coming home.

The Maja replacement Gregg's missed two chances, Wyke was his ponderous self, as usual and our goal was scored by a CB.

It's not quite gone tits up yet, and the fat lady certainly is not singing yet...

We just look clueless... ni great passing, movement or pressing

Needs to improve soon...

LAST FIVE GAMES - FORM GUIDE - FROM BBC

LUTON         WWWWW
BARNSLEY    WWDWW
POMPEY        LLLDD
SAFC             DDWDD
CHARLTON     WWDLD
DONNIE          LDDWW

In a couple of weeks we will be facing the last dozen games of the league season.

looks like Luton & Barnsley have come good at the right time.

But, no shame in going up by the play offs, if that has to be.

Still all to play for, but we need a few quality moments to break teams down.

Now 16 games unbeaten and still 4th in the league with games coming thick and fast. Of course its always a disappointment when we dont win but is it the end of the world? No, last season was the end of the world, I will move heaven and earth to be there for every game from now on this season to support Ross and his team, whoever that team is, its what supporters do.

So long as we win more than we lose I'd take them any day over a draw.

And I am sure that Ross and every player would. I watched the game in full last night on the stream and I did not see one player who did not give their all, something every fan tells me is the basic requirement.

Did Grigg deliberately go out to miss his chances, the goalkeeper tried his best to let a goal in, of course not. When we are playing well and winning supporting is so easy but its now the team need us and try as people may to paint a bad picture we are still in a good place.

Would I pick a different team to Ross yes I would but an interesting question was asked on Twitter, when everyone is fit what would be your best 11, everyone had a different team.

Are we playing well, am I happy with results no I;m not and that is my right. Will I go out of my way to find fault, well that's the easy way but IMO its the wrong way, it will never be mine.
