Oxford United v Sunderland AFC
Sat 09 Feb
KO 15.00
Kassam Stadium

We travel to Donald's home town club to take on his Oxford team so no overnight stay for him
I think we can be certain of changes to the team that started against the wombles, personally I would start with Grigg and Sterling with O'Nien a certainty.
I would say its a big game but they all are now, things are tight at the top.

Them 3 plus Morgan are certainties. Any of the rest will be good enough. 0-5 to the cuddlies. (A more sensible approach to my score prediction this week)

No problem with that team. Unless perhaps Power and Leadbitter too similar... use Honeyman?

Is it right that Grigg and Power have played together? If so, make sure Power is in line-up for Grigg's debut.

Agree. Although Power Griggs moves and may perk up.

Regardless we will win anyway.

It seems like an eternity since our last game, mind that will be sorted with the amount of games coming up, but finally we are nearly back to a match day.

It seems every game this season and this game is no different. Donald and Methen's team that they support and have been involved with so a special day for them and of course they have a Mr Jerome Sinclair on loan, I guess he will want to score.

But its Sunderland we need to concentrate on and the selection is now needing some thought from Ross with only the keeper a certain starter. We know that the game comes to early for Love, Hume and Cattermole but there are some big decisions to be made.

O'Nien or Matthews at right back and Oviedo or James at left?
Midfield is no easier but Catts out makes the choice a little easier?
Gooch or Morgan on the right?
And striker or strikers, will Grigg start and if he does does he have support from a second striker?

We will all have an opinion but only one counts, wor Jacks.

Jack Ross dismisses calls for Sunderland to play a second striker as too 'simplistic'
Sunderland are scoring regularly if not freely, however Jack Ross believes his system is more attacking than simply 'sticking two strikers on'

He is right in that we have scored in all league games up till now.

The draws would be wins if we kept a clean sheet.

Atm we favour two wingers, to have two strikers means one less  winger... we look to the wingers for creativity as we have two defensive CMs

One of the reasons I hate the January transfer window is it unsettles players who were doing well - now we have probably lost him for the rest of the season - mentally if not physically Sad

No, shows how strong the squad is and we have a few games this week so the squad will be needed.
