Push for a record attendance could mean many things.

that's was the old 3rd Division, the record that he wants broken is the EFL Division 1.

With 40,000 fans expected to make their way to the Stadium of Light on Boxing Day, Sunderland AFC is enhancing fans’ match day experience with a new-look FanZone in the Beacon of Light.
Whilst the winter weather means that the normal FanZone location in the south east corner of the stadium is closed at present, the Beacon of Light will fling open its doors for a Christmas special event for supporters wanting to soak up the pre-match atmosphere.
Hosted by Frankie Francis, of Frankie and the Heartstrings, the indoor FanZone will include a wide range of activities for all the family, from live music and entertainment, a visit from club mascots Samson and Delilah, come-and-try football, table tennis and a SAFC versus Bradford City fans 5-a-side match.
Sunderland singer-songwriter Marty Longstaff – aka The Lake Poets – will perform his hit single Shipyards live and supporters will also get the chance to meet current and former players, as well as Sunderland AFC owners Stewart Donald and Charlie Methven.
Charlie said: “It’s going to be a great event, bringing all elements of our SAFC family together. One of the joys of our tenure has been bringing the club and its Foundation back together again, and this joint project is yet another example of what can be achieved when everyone is on the same hymn sheet. It’s a real coup getting The Lake Poets to play live as well, given that he is riding as high in the charts as we are in League One!”
There will be a range of food on offer from the Beacon of Light’s café and supporters will be able to purchase alcoholic and soft drinks on site. The Beacon of Light is a sports, community and education facility, run by Sunderland AFC’s official charity the Foundation of Light
Boxing Day Itinerary:
1200 FanZone at the Beacon opens
1230 Season review with Wise Men Say podcast
1300 Former player appearance
1330 Live music with The Lake Poets
1345 Members of the first team squad
1400 Stewart Donald and Charlie Methven
1430 Countdown to kick-off
Tickets are still available for the Boxing Day game, starting from £10 for young supporters aged under 16, £15 for under 22s, £19.50 for over 65s and £22 - £27.50 for adult tickets. See [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] how to buy.

I am really looking forward to Boxing Day ( having to resist all sorts of family pressures, but sod it).

Although it looks as if I will have to forgo the pleasure of wishing Lord Syd happy Christmas

One will give one a royal wave if one has time, eat, drink, hand shaking and the like

Supporters are being urged to arrive early for Sunderland AFC’s Boxing Day fixture against Bradford City, with a record attendance expected.
TRAVEL
Supporters travelling to the game are advised that Metro trains and buses will be operating across the region. To help supporters to plan their journey, information on the services are listed in the timetables below:

METRO - https://www.nexus.org.uk/metro/updates…
BUS - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Sunderland station in the City Centre is closed on Boxing Day. Supporters should use the Stadium of Light and St Peter’s as the nearest stations for the Stadium of Light. Passengers wishing to access the City Centre should use Park Lane Interchange.
Sunderland AFC’s park and ride service, which operates from Sunderland Enterprise Park just off the A1231, will be running as normal and offers a quick and easy way to get to the stadium. There is also ample car parking available in Sunderland City Centre.
Supporters are reminded of the parking restrictions in the vicinity of the Stadium of Light. Police and local authority parking restrictions, including permit schemes, are in place on more than 60 streets and are heavily enforced.
ARRIVE EARLY
Over 39,000 tickets have already been sold and the ticket office and stadium turnstiles will be extremely busy on the day of the game. The club urges all those attending the game to please take into account the significantly higher numbers of people who will be collecting tickets and accessing the stadium, when planning their journey.
Supporters collecting pre-paid tickets should do so as early as possible to avoid queues as there are an exceptionally high number of ticket collections. The ticket office is open from 10am on the morning of the game, for both collections and sales.
Supporters who have purchased tickets and clicked the ‘print at home’ option MUST print their tickets prior to coming to the game. The ‘print at home’ option does not allow access with a mobile phone and supporters must bring a hard copy of their ticket print out. They should also ensure that the barcode on the printed ticket is fully visible and not damaged or smudged, as this could prevent entry.
Stadium turnstiles will open at 1.30pm and supporters should leave additional time to enter the stadium, due to the higher attendance. Queues are expected at the turnstiles, in particular from 2.30pm onwards and supporters are advised to enter the stadium prior to this time to avoid delays.
FANZONE
The FanZone will be open in the Beacon of Light before the game, offering a wide range of activities and entertainment for all the family, from live music from The Lake Poets, a visit from club mascots Samson and Delilah, come-and-try football, table tennis and a SAFC versus Bradford City fans 5-a-side.
Supporters will also get the chance to have their picture taken with current and former players, as well as meet Sunderland AFC directors.

The FanZone at the Beacon will open at 12noon

Totally agree H.

Just hope we get the win and it keeps a few thousand more coming back. Would be superb to have 34-35000 until the end of the season.
