White shorts in those days....

Neil Martin was tremendous.

As usual, big money offer and our star centre forward was transferred in 1968 to ........... Coventry..

The next few lines some of you may find harsh and even believe Billy is back.

I still despise the pointy chinned cheating tw*t and I really hope the bloke suffered before he died. Furthermore I hope his family have a horrible life and I sincerely hope Coventry go out of business.

They cheated simple as and got away with it as he even influenced the decision to just issue a fine. They repeated the process 20 years later when turning up for the last match of the season (Spurs possibly) citing roadworks were to blame. Once again they got away with relegation and sweet FA happened.

PS, you may think I went a tad overboard with my 2nd line. I stand by it totally.

Gil, I thought you comments were quite understandable and I totally agree with you. After the FA let the great long chinned one off I never listened to him again commentate, comment on a game or interview people. I always turned the sound off or even switched off the TV. The man was a liar and a cheat.

Like you I would have enjoyed Billy's attack, all in good taste of course.
