Sunderland appoint two new directors

Sunderland have appointed two new directors to the board of the football club.
Tony Davison joined the club in the role of managing director in May, and he has now been formally made a director of the club.

And the Black Cats have also added owner Stewart Donald’s business partner Neil Fox as a director.
They join chairman Donald, Monaco-based businessman Juan Sartori, executive director Charlie Methven, and finance director Angela Lowes on the board.

Despite being confirmed as a board member by the club at the beginning of August, Sartori is not yet listed as a director of the football club at Companies House, although he does have a share in Madrox Partners Ltd - the vehicle Donald set up to take over the football club in the summer.

While Davison’s appointment to the board was a formality given his job title and return to the club, Fox's addition formalises his relationship with Sunderland having spent the summer working several days each week on the financial restructure of the club.
Fox is also a director of several other companies along with Donald, including Bridle Insurance.
