He must be pinching himself because not in his wildest dreams could he have dreamt of things going this well.

Yes our squad of little known bargain buys are doing fantastic and our unknown manager from sme little known team in Scotland is proving to be an absolute magic appointment but its more than that.

The pages of twitter are full this morning of pictures of Charlie with the fans in Gillingham enjoying a pint, laughing and joking and simply being one of the boys. Sunday was full of Juan in the south stand singing how he hated Newcastle while clapping his hands.

The turn around in a few short months from the chaos and secretive world of Short and the downward spiral of despair to now is beyond words and we are a reborn club in every way.

We all know that we will have some testing times ahead, in football you always do but for now its a case of just enjoy what we have, enjoy the ride and bring on Oxford so that we can join in the party once we have disposed of Wimbledon on Saturday.

I'm happy how things are going, but i have no ill will towards Short either who I believe had his heart in the right place but was short on knowledge about the football world and was poorly advised by people who he thought knew better..

Like you Allan I too am very happy at how things have gone thus far this season. I also agree with your comment about Ellis Short. To many on this forum gave him no credit for virtually saving the club when the Irish businessmen wanted their money out. Short spent a lot of money buying players on big wages etc., but as you say, he was badly advised by a number of people. I don't blame him for taking the transfer money in his final years but still did a good deal with Stewart Donald when he finally sold the club.

I can support a lot of what Short tried to do but the last two seasons lost me.

Being relegated from the premier league was probably long overdue and investing to get us back there may have been an investment to far for him. But a small investment may well have kept us in the championship and that would for me have been a sensible investment.

All that said it may have also lost us Donald because the price may have been to high so it may be a price worth paying, despite Short.

I would also add that to make a mistake is fine, we all make them but to repeat that mistake over and over again???
