I know he had a way about him but he said what he thought.

Shocked is an understatement.

Still trying to get my head round this. Totally unexpected

I worry that young Nial is being cared for and how will Billy's mother cope without him to care for her.

Post  cyprussyd on 2018-07-11, 7:59 am

I'm slowly, very, very slowly starting to get my head round this news and like Dave my concern is with Daves mother and son.

Dave and I have locked horns for more years than my marriages lasted going back to BBC606 days. When I was moderator on not606 banning Billy was a regular occurrence and he did not give a toss about being banned, indeed it was a badge of honour to him. But billy was like that naughty member of your family, annoying, maddening but someone you missed when he was not around and oh how I will miss him in my internet world.

Billy, Dave had lot's of problems in life that shaped him but when it came to being a son and father he was number one and hopefully he has now found some peace, something he struggled with in life.

When someone dies we all try and say the right things, talk of how they will be missed but then life goes on. Life will indeed go on after this loss, Sunderland will have a good or bad season and England will or will not win the world cup but, in Billy's case he truly will be remembered and missed.

Just to add a few words to your post Syd, Billy's posts were always bordering on anger but anger with a passion, what he felt, he said and didn't hold back  His language was colourful and designed to shock, but he never bore any grudges.

I met him and his son at Jerry and Nic's on one of my visits and he was the complete opposite of of his posting style  he was quiet and polite and good company.
I will miss your anger on here Billy, but I will remember you as I saw you at Jerry's.

God bless and keep you   Sad

I’ve obviously never met Billy and sadly never will.  Despite that I knew he was a good lad that had clearly been through a lot in life.  The way he spoke about his Mum gave me an insight into his true character.

Im sorry for Billy and all who knew him especially his family.  RIP Billy.
