Re: 2018/19 League
After much thought I have decided it would be fair to warn my fellow fantasists that this year I will be taking this competition seriously.
In past years I have entered a team and left them unmanaged, more interested in punditry but not this year so be warned, there will only be one winner.
I asked Annette if she thought I could win and her reply was encouraging,"Yes she said because you have been a great fantasist since I have known you".

Thought this time was the easiest ever to sort out a team. Last year was my worst ever season. Watch out this season. My lads have come in early for extra training and a special diet regime and they are going to hit the ground running.

Did you? I thought it was really tricky to get all the players I wanted!Spuggy wrote:Thought this time was the easiest ever to sort out a team. Last year was my worst ever season. My lads too are in for extra training and in this heat who needs a trip to Spain or Portugal?

Re: 2018/19 League
Right . Here is a secret but dont tell anybody else.
Diet for Strippier, Flashford and Blingard is hot pot and chips with raw Bury black pudding sat on a lettuce leaf on the side - Sir Alex brought them up on that.
Robertson, God bless him, was easy. Haggis 3 ways with deep fried Mars bars in batter.
But the foreign guys not so easy - they like muck. Basis is garlic, quinoa and couscous and funny sausages. You know me I'm not prejudiced so I throw in a special UK treat to clinch the deal = tomato sauce - they are not allowed it at home and have be body searched as they leave training to stop them smuggling it out.
If caught, they get the worst punishment ever inflicted. viz: The Palatinates favourite food, honed to perfection of horribleness by every Mackem family and chip shop there for generations. Soggy chips, tasteless fish, basted in a jus, sauce, gravy of runny mushy peas, devoured through a straw so saving on washing up. They come to heel quickly on that.

Re: 2018/19 League
Loving the renewed enthusiasm and the varying approaches to trying to unseat last years double winners!!!
The victorious Mackemites have been reborn as the Mackemphoenixrising and are ready for the challenge.
Last years top players have almost been priced out of the market e.g. Salah @ 13.0m makes a big hole in the budget!!
We now have 10 teams registered, hope we get a few more yet
