Loving that. I feel under the new ownership it's a club that others can hold that affection for again. Sadly lacking in recent years but this is the dawn of a new era!

Well that brought a tear to my eyes, a well written and genuine piece so thank you Richard.

Its no secret that I am not a Sunderland fan, I am a Sunderland fanatic, its so far in my blood that I have no choice but to go to games, I wish my old legs would allow me to go to away games but alas that is a step to far.

I have no idea what its like to be a fan of other teams but but I remember the dark days of Man City and the enduring dark days of other clubs, many walked away but a hard core couldnt, like me they were and are hooked.

When I read fans of other clubs say kind words it makes me proud to be a very small part of Sunderland AFC, not Short, Donald, managers or players, its far more basic than that, its simply my club.

I didn’t walk away either Syd,  when we were in the 1st div our average home gate was over 28 thousand and yet certain other fans still sing ‘where were you when you were shit’.

I went to Villa in the FA cup a couple of seasons ago and there were so many of us Villa gave us the Holte end.  There were more city fans in the crowd than Villa fans and yet they still had the audacity to sing WWYWYWS.  Oh i’m also a plastic as well apparently.

It’s great to see your season ticket sales,  stick with it you’ll be back we’re you belong soon enough.
