Meetings and Dave's update

Post  Gordon Armstrong on 2018-06-06, 1:18 pm

These seem to have been popular in the past, but I haven't seen any plans for the future.

The only meet-ups that I've noticed have been for our friendlies organised by Uncle Billy, and my memories of those are pretty vague, to say the least Rolling Eyes

Is there anyone designated to make plans for meeting(s) beer and is there any interest, even Question

I plan to travel up to Mackem land as soon as I can after my treatment. I have a meeting with the consultant surgeon tomorrow morning to discuss my options so I will have a better idea then.  like

Re: Meetings and Dave's update

Our annual get together to welcome His Highness The Right Honorable David Bowen aka canary boy is something I enjoy. Our last get together was probably the one I enjoyed the most, I did however drink far to much for a none drinker, all down to Miss Jerry leading me astray.

I, Dave and Makem Neil met around midday at the Roker Hotel, we all stayed there, for an early lunch, taxi to SoL to meet Jerry, Nick, Les and OBC.
We then had the pleasure of the early signs of the great season ahead when the football started.

After the game it was taxi back to the hotel for me, Dave, Neil and OBC and meet up with Jerry and Nick then the Italian Farmhouse for dinner.

I could not find my room at the end of the night and a member of staff had to escort me to it.

Never again I said but of course I will.

I have just had the worst news possible. The surgeon wants to remove my bladder ASAP because the cancer is so aggressive  but because I have a pulmonary embolism, I would not survive the operation  I have to shake off the embolism and delay the operation for three months but he is afraid that by then it will have spread and not be treatable

I am between a rock and a hard place  Sad

As with the rest of your comrades, I have sat here for a while trying to think of something positive to say.

You are in the hands of very clever people, so do not lose hope. You also have the support and best wishes of us all.
