I would prefer to keep him, if he is likely to stay fit, otherwise it is £20m

Did we not get him and Love in a 5m deal, and if we did it is not a bad offer.  Hopefully he will stay but I think it depends who the bidding club are.

PS: just spotted that it's Brighton which is possibly a bit out of the frying pan..................

If they want to be away perhaps we are now in a position to hold out for the fee we want and not give them away

The only problem I have with him is he is nearly always crock,so that's the dilema the new manager has to make a decision on.

In reality we only really have a say on value because as Kone proved if a player wants out then in the end they tend to get their way. And TBF if a premier league club comes in is it fair to refuse a player the chance to move up two leagues?

Of course we want to keep our better players and if Ross wants to keep them then it's up to his manager skills to sell him why he should stay.

The main reason is that regular football will help their education but McNair would probably get that elsewhere,

Yeh and I’m lead to believe he wants premiership football who can blame him
And of course premiership wages
We must get as much as we can for him
And plough it back into recruitment

No surprise there and TBH nothing to worry about.

We are a division 1 club and need to build a winning division 1 team, McNair is way, way above division 1 level so  he will leave and good luck to the lad.

The only question for us is how much we get.

No-one can deny McNair his move given the circumstances, but convincing him and others to stay to fire us back would be a bigger achievement and a statement of intent.

Keeping our best players has to be a priority........if we keep letting players go just because they want/think they should be in a better league we will never get anywhere......we need to convince them of the club's ambition and get them to stay and help the team back to the better leagues

I am sure Ross will try to get him to stay, maybe on the basis that if promotion is not achieved he will be allowed to leave at the end of the season.

However, if he is intent on leaving that's fine as long as he realises that it will only be at our valuation. The clubs future philosophy must be to buy young players with potential and when necessary sell at a profit until we become financially stable and back in the premiership. We can't realistically hang on to them all.

With regard to his value, see my post on Ndong. £2m is ridiculous he is worth as much as Ndong, f not more with appropriate add-ons!!
