I am not being intentionally negative Syd, but my understanding was that the funding was guaranteed when the takeover went ahead, just puzzled about the announcement about Monaco.  As a club at the moment we have little to offer potential big money men and approaching a Russian via his son-in-law raises my doubts. Also, where are the other backers?

Our past is history, but our future depends forever going upward and without funding we are up a creek.  I just hope it does not come down to us selling the likes of Honeyman, McNair and others.

Doubtless the next few weeks will reveal all and, as usual, it will be eventful.

Nos, with the whole syndicate in place  due diligence was going to take an age to process so Donald decided he could cope with a year in League One and bring the backers in down the line.

It was all about speeding up the process

Hope that makes it clearer for you.  like

Dave, it will be even clearer when the "international consortium" and our budget is revealed.

There is NO international consortium Noz, that's what Dave is saying and was explained at the very first press conference. It was also explained that Donald has the funding to take us from division 1 to championship so for the next two seasons at least we have no cash problems. The Monaco trip is to start and put in place that international consortium but Donald will always be the major shareholder and in control but rich people with money to invest can only be a good thing providing they are the right people.

and my reading and interpretation of the due diligence was that  to speed up the process then Donald and Methven would be stand alone as far as the FA was concerned.  Once that was done and we were free and clear our "outside investors" would stump up funding.

This is done to death now, but more than one season in Div1 is a season too many in my book.
