Apparently Mr Wilder is not coming media saying that he is signing a new deal with Sheff Utd.
Glad or unhappy?
For me not good enough for where this club needs to be going

Where we are heading is the Northern League.

We need a manager for where we are now, not where we might be in x yrs time. Wilder would fit the bill as he's got experience of promotion from League 1.

All just speculation with regard to who is wanted at Sunderland anyway. Makes me laugh the way these things are reported. The Echo says Wilder signing a new contract is a blow to Sunderland. Well only if Donald actually wanted him, but he has not been able to say that as he doesn't own us yet. The latest mention in the papers is Alex Rae - presumably just a wild punt because of his Sunderland links - not because the new owners have declared any interest whatsoever.

Chris Wilder has just signed a contract extension with Sheffield United.

Listening to Donald I doubt Wilder was ever his choice, he seems very confident that his man will be named on Friday

"Lots of applications" plus Stewart and Charlie's ideas, suggests that even in League 1 we are still an attractive proposition, particularly with a clean broom sweeping through the organisation.

They are looking for a long haul appointment, and a guy with charisma, determination, strength and high standards, who can lead by example. I think we can rule out some of the journeyman managers that have been mentioned to date. The likes of Hurst, Cook and Ross seem the more likely.

One more thing i will add is that when you meet him, which i'm sure you will, he will want you to call him Stewart and not Mr Donald.

Is Mr Roy Keane on his way back?

I've been on so many manager-go-rounds in the past and I am at the stage where I will wait with unbaited breath. Just give us stability for while and one who can go into bat to keep our young players regardless.
