God bless the bookies

We are still not certain that we will have a new owner.
We have no idea who our manager will be.
Team and squad, anyone know who the players will be.

BUT

We are odds on with the bookies for promotion back to the championship.

Bookies supply odds depending on how many people have bet on a circumstance, not who they think will win.

I smile at one of my facebook friends who posts one or two times a month about his betting success, how much he won and what on.

I asked him once if he only bets once a month, knowing the answer was no, just about every day so why not post about all his bets, I only talk about the good days he answered.

The vast majority of bets are losing bets - that's why you rarely see a poor bookie.

The big chains have taken over most cities and towns now, not many old time bookies about anymore.
