The question is do we want Super Kev because of his goal scoring for us or for his management experience in division 1?

Given the events that should unfold off the pitch in the next week or two and the possible exodus of players then I am sticking with Stockdale.  Given the two sides of the coin he was part of our survival seasons as well as the two failures and knows the players that will be the biggest part of the team.

We all know that any manager appointment is a lottery so I am not going to see him as a loser but as someone who is part of the current fabric of the club along with the players so he is as good a candidate as any of them mentioned so far.

I can think of two, one financial and another about remarks he has made since he left, but too far out of it to give a reasonable answer.

During his time at Sunderland you may or may not recall that he  sometimes signed  relatively unknown players who never got to play for us. After a short stay they were moved on. Mr Reid did deals with players agents and received a backhander for his services. Not exactly honest. I seem to recall that there was some publicity about this practice after he left Sunderland apparently there were other managers involved.

I cannot deny that for part of the time that he was manager we had an exciting and quite successful team and even made it up to second in the Premiership.
