Sunderland manager Chris Coleman has left the club following their relegation to League One.
The Black Cats, who suffered a second successive relegation after losing to Burton on 21 April, say the 47-year-old has been "released from his contract".
Coleman left his job as Wales manager to replace Simon Grayson as Sunderland boss in November.
But he won just five of his 29 games in charge as they fell to the third tier for the first time in 30 years.
More to follow.

Sunderland AFC announces that manager Chris Coleman and his assistant Kit Symons have been released from their contracts.
The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Chris and Kit for their tireless efforts in what has been a hugely disappointing season for everyone involved with the club.

The club is unable to make further comment at this time.

Not sure it is a good idea to dump Coleman! Presumably Short/Bane want to try and blame him for their failure to back him in January

He took over a poor championship side and contrived to make them the worst team many have seen at our club.
Signings
Camp, what can we say.
Clarke-Salter poor at best
Ejaria, was good before he came?
Lua Lua, sicknotes r us
Fletcher, Kone up front would have been better.

Team selections, tragic
Team formation . Woeful
Substitutes, baffling

His media comments sickly
Am i pleased he's gone too feckin true i am
Rant over onward and upward.

Weird - I agree with your comments - other then the media bit - yet I'm very disappointed Coleman has gone
Guess I admire his courage in taking us on when it seemed nobody would touch us with a barge pole
Also sick of constantly changing managers
Intrigued as to who the new manager will be - the new owners must have somebody lined up to have got rid of Coleman immediately

I know you weren't a fan of Coleman but even you would agree we have changed managers far too many times over the last few seasons??....and you never did say who you would have had as manager??
I think he deserved at least one season with a few quid to mould his own team.....
Presumably the new owners have a manager lined up otherwise we have the same farce as before this season where nobody wanted the job and we ended up with Grayson
