Post  cyprussyd on 2018-04-22, 12:00 pm

Fulham v Sunderland
Fri 27 Apr
KO 19.45
Craven Cottage
Live on Sky

Our penultimate game of the season and in the championship and a novelty, this is not a must win game so we will probably win.

Lot's of questions and for me interest still in our final two games because with relegation now confirmed will we see the start of planning for the future? Do we stick with players who we know will be gone in two weeks or do we start looking at players who may be the future?

Of course with our squad and injuries we will have to play some players who may well be gone but IMO we should be playing Maja for Fletcher to name just one change.
We badly need some positive news to try and rekindle interest.

Well imo there is no point in playing the lads on loan as they will all f*ck off back to their clubs.
Therefore, with nowt to lose we might as well play the u23's & see what they can do.

Re: Fulham v Sunderland

Post  cyprussyd on 2018-04-26, 4:48 pm

16-year-old Bali Mumba will travel to Fulham on Friday after being named in Sunderland’s senior squad for the first time.
Luke Molyneux and Elliot Embleton have also been included in the group heading to Craven Cottage, with the trio selected following their recent performances for the under-23s.
Embleton made his debut earlier in the season at Wolves with Molyneux recovering from a period in the treatment to score five goals in his last six games, but it’s new territory entirely for Mumba who only made the step up to under-23 level in February.
And to top it all off, Chris Coleman revealed the first-team call has got him out of double biology in the process.
“It’s the first time for Bali,” said the Welshman. “He’s happy, I think we’ve got him out of double biology today!
“There will be one or two younger boys in the squad with us because we have got one or two missing, and one or two doubts.”
He continued: “Bali is travelling with us, Luke Molyneux, Elliot Embleton.
“We’ve lost one or two to injury and it will be good experience for them.
“Ethan Robson will be with us but he has been in and out of course.”

Re: Fulham v Sunderland

Post  cyprussyd on 2018-04-27, 7:38 am

I appreciate that many lost interest in the team some time ago and probably that loss of interest was compounded last weekend with our relegation but I and a few other hardy souls will plough on because..

IT'S MATCH DAY

The club,  my club, your club did not start with Mr E Short and it wont end with him, we go back to 1879, 139 years and although I wont be here to see it we will survive for a further 139 years providing people carry on supporting. So far 16,000 people have renewed or bought a season card for next season so 16,000 will ensure the club continues. That's a good crowd for the first division, we will sell out every away game with every team we play going all out to beat us. We stopped being a big club in the premier league some time ago. We certainly are no longer the big club of north east football and managed to prove we can t even claim to be a big club in the championship.

We start I would guess as a massive club in division one, I hear the doubters now proclaiming failure again, some can't manage happy and positive.

I was going to say sorry for the sermon but TBH I'm not, whats done is done and no matter how many times we write about our torrid season wont make it successful, yes we need new owners, yes we have a big dark cloud hanging over the club and yes things are bad. I can do nothing about but at full time against Burton relegation was confirmed and at the moment next season started for me, a new adventure and new interesting exciting times, the future starts tonight.

  • How will Coleman react with team selection
  • How will players react

I fully expect some players to give everything and prove why they should be here next season, others will give everything to try and impress their next club and some sadly wont give a dam.

f*ck KTF, how about they earn it?
I can see a Sunderland win on the cards.
Sadly, too little, too late.

Who is the more likely to win away tonight? Sunderland at Fulham or the Falcons at Leicester!

Years ago I went to  Fulham v Sunderland game. The cottagers had One George Best and Rodney Marsh playing for them IIRC. We won I think

Nice to see Robson starting.....doubt if we'll see Mumba (the wonder kid) come on but he's only 16 so he might just be on the bench for a taste of the experience

Well the question of the night so far is Cattermole, injured, rested, dropped?
