What's up at SOL

Post  lesmac on Wed Apr 18, 2018 3:58 am

Just heard on Look North that Coleman says Osoro, Maja, Honeyman and one other are unlikely to play again this season. Are they injured or are they being prepared to move on in deals already agreed in secret?

Sunderland have been dealt a quadruple blow ahead of the final stages of the Sky Bet Championship season, with Chris Coleman revealing that Donald Love, Lynden Gooch and Joel Asoro are set to miss the remainder of the campaign.
The Welshman also doesn’t expect Jonny Williams to feature, with the midfielder sidelined since March due to a quad injury suffered at Queens Park Rangers.
Already without Ty Browning and Duncan Watmore, Coleman is hopeful that captain John O’Shea will return to training on Thursday, with Bryan Oviedo and George Honeyman also set to train ahead of Saturday’s game against Burton Albion.
Speaking to safc.com, the boss provided the latest from the treatment room.
“Gooch and Asoro are both out for the season,” confirmed Coleman.
“Goochy got a kick on the bottom of his quad and knee and that will keep him out for the season, and Jonny Williams probably isn’t going to make it back before the end of the campaign.”
He continued: “Donald Love is also out for the season.
“In the last minute at Reading he got a booking after coming across the guy, and he’s hurt the ligaments in his knee.
“Joel’s is a hamstring which happened yesterday right at the end of training, and realistically that’s going to be a two to three-week injury.
“John O’Shea has a chance to train on Thursday and Oviedo will train on Thursday, as will George Honeyman who had sickness today, but he’s like a Duracell battery so he should be okay.”
