Just a word of encouragement to the younger generation of Sunderland fans.I am 68 this month and have supported SAFC home and away for 57 years. The best season apart from 73 cup winning season was the only season we were in division three. Loads of different grounds not just taking over the grounds but almost taking over small towns. The added bonus this time at most away grounds we will be standing. So stand firm back the lads, it could be the time of your lives. FTM KTF.

I went to a lot of home games from 1978.
Started going away when I was a bit older.
Things changed when I signed up. Was ok when I was at Catterick as I could just jump the train to Durham.
That went belly up when they sent me to Aldershot as I could only get to away games in the south.
I missed a lot of games due to the time I was posted away.
Seen more games at Roker Park than the SOL.

I went to a few away games when we were in the third division and it was 'interesting' - at least we were usually winning! But we had  a much better team I think than we do now and shoudl NEVER have been relegated int he first place.
