Cut thoat razors.

Any of you ever use one?
Are they good?
Are they easy to use?
I notice most of the good ones are hollow ground so can you use them left handed?
There's two Turkish barbers near me & I need a haircut so might as well get a shave while I'm in there.

Back in the day I was lathered up ready to go using one, but chickened out even though they were supposed to be safe when used on the angle of choice.  I have reached the stage now though where electric shave is order of the day a couple of times a week.  White (blonde) stubble comes in handy.  Daily shaving went out of the window a few years ago.

Don’t do it Billy.
I had a cut throat razor shave in Greece many years ago, it was horrible.

It started off with the nutter putting a boiling hot towel on my face which unfortunately was sunburnt, this was followed by a very nervy and brutal shave with what looked like a scythe and finished with the bloody idiot splashing a liquid on my face that felt like fiery jack and smelt like meths.

That was probably 30 odd years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday.

I've had them before but always by a barber.
Never used one myself.

I can laugh about it now H but walking around for the rest of the day with a two tone face wasn’t funny.

One of the reasons I went over to electric years ago.  In the old style 3-part Gillette safety razor blades cost pennies and lasted a week.  My old man used to strop his blades on his hand to extend the life.
