Hope not, and further hope it will fall under the "bringing the name of the club into disrepute".
Sorry Nos, I've actually read a number of times the standard pro-contract that SAFC & others use & rightly or wrongly he's most definitely on FULL pay & your "bringing the name of the club into disrepute" is a fallacy often quoted.

I assume he will be sacked when found or pleads guilty

Not necessarily as it will depend purely upon his employment contract.

The club needs to ensure it that it treads very cautiously as an arrest is nothing more than an accusation – nothing has been proven, so an employer should always be leery about firing an employee for an arrest. Everything it says or does must in no way have a presumption about it or a claim of prejudice might be forthcoming in court at a later date. This is an area that has cost SAFC a lot of money during Shorts tenure.

Once the outcome of any possible court action should it be taken against him by the crown is known, then and only then can a meeting to discuss it's outcome be had with the players representatives.

I'm afraid addiction and stupidity, it could be either or both, has little to do with time or money.
