Birmingham City v Sunderland AFC
Tue 30 Jan
KO 19.45
St Andrews

The next test awaits at St Andrews where a win will transform our season giving real hope that better times are ahead.

Surely the same starting 11 must start in this game, every one of them earned their place regardless of any signings or returning players? That said I can see Mathews starting ahead of Jones.

Birmingham have a tough trip to Huddersfield on Saturday in the cup so we should be fresher and up for this game, all that said I doubt any Sunderland fans will enjoy a relaxing afternoon and a collective sigh of relief will be heard at FT if we have all 3 points.

Expected team
RUITER
BROWNING  O'SHEA  CLARKE-SALTER
MATHEWS                                                        OVIEDO
CATTERMOLE   ROBSON
HONEYMAN                                                        ASORO
MAJA

As I said elsewhere this game is bigger than a 6 pointer.. if we are to survive other teams at the bottom have to do worse than us. Plus of course as Syd points out a big morale booster

Well we have debated whether new signings should go straight into the team or should we stick with the kids, its starting to like like we wont have that choice.

Keep the same team and show faith in them as they'll be buzzing to play. Reward them as no one let us down and build team morale. But I'm sure CC will have his finger on the pulse if the formation or players is not right for an away game. KLL on the bench for me with any other new signings.

Not to sure who could be brought in... as the squad is as they say 'down to the bare bones' and we are playing the kids (who by and large are doing very well)

@JHunterChron
Kone in the squad tomorrow. Too early for Williams. Jones injured. [ltr]#safc[/ltr]

@JHunterChron
LuaLua also in the squad. #safc

With the midday deadline past my prediction for tomorrows team is..

RUITER
BROWNING     O'SHEA    CLARKE-SALTER
MATHEWS                                                           OVIEDO
CATTERMOLE   ROBSON
HONEYMAN                               ASORO
MAJA

STRYJEK KONE GOOCH LOVE MCGEADY WILSON KAZENGA

Interesting listening to Cookie on Kazenga, he sees him playing through the middle in a number 9/10 role.

The way we set up I think pace through the middle could work well for us..

Well today it's one eye on transfers and one on the build up to tonight's game until just before kick of then both eyes on the game at kick off.

I think we all expect the same starting 11 with the exception of full back where Mathews will come in for the injured Jones.

But the interest will be on the bench, the new man will be there and I suspect he will be sitting next to Kone.

Can we make it back to back wins, I hope so.
