I am so sad about this. I loved listening to him doing radio and TV commentary. So knowledgeable and always such a gentleman. Almost the last of his generation Crying or Very sad

I wonder if we will speak in such glowing terms of current players in 50 years time?

Jack Rodwell had a long Sunderland career making 4 appearances in his 4 years at the club. Maybe not

A sad day indeed, but he was man who lived his life like he did his football, quietly, sensibly and with dignity.

A very sad loss to the game of football.

RIP Jimmy, you will be missed.
